CALLING ALL ECO-FEMINISTS: ENVIRONMENTAL NONPROFIT SEEKS CAMPAIGN STAFF
The Fund for the Public Interest is seeking hard-working individuals with good communication skills and a passion for social change to fill citizen outreach and Field Manager positions across the country this summer.
We’re hiring activists as paid staff to help with our campaign and citizen outreach work in Philadelphia this summer. As paid campaign staff, activists will build grassroots power, learn the building blocks of political organizing, talk to hundreds of people about environmental issues, and work closely with our senior staff team. The information below describes our organization and positions available.
This summer we’re working on PennEnvironment’s campaign to ban polystyrene, or what most people think of as Styrofoam. PennEnvironment is a citizen-based environmental advocacy organization that takes on issues including climate change, conservation, and public health. Specifically, we want to ban foam cups and takeout containers – 1/3 of which end up in our waterways as plastic pollution where it kills birds and fish. So, PennEnvironment is working to pass a statewide ban on polystyrene. We are working now to build support with Philadelphians through our citizen outreach project, to convince our Pennsylvania leaders to act at the state level!
Currently we have paid Canvasser and Field Manager positions open in 25+ cities across the country, including Philadelphia. These are full-time summer positions available from June through August at an average of $400-600 per week.

About The Fund for the Public Interest
The Fund for the Public Interest is a national non-profit organization that runs campaigns for America's leading environmental and social change organizations, like Environment America. We launched the Fund in 1982 to help find ways to engage people on the most pressing problems of our day and turn that support into solutions. By having face-to-face one-on-one conversations we give millions of people the opportunity for their voices to be heard, through petitions, emails, small donations and meetings. That's people power, and that's what it takes to make change.
