DIRECT MARKETING MANAGER

Reports to: Marketing Director

Supervisory Responsibilities: Marketing and Membership Assistant

SUMMARY
EMILY’s List, the nation’s largest resource for women in politics, is searching for a Direct Marketing Manager to join our Development team. The Direct Marketing Manager will oversee all aspects of EMILYs List’s direct mail and telemarketing programs.

Essential Job Functions

  • Work with Marketing Director and outside consultants to develop direct mail and  telemarketing strategies for acquiring, reinstating, cultivating, and retaining low and mid dollar range donors;
  • Manage outside consultants and vendors;
  • Manage all aspects of direct mail campaigns including the full creative process, from copywriting and design to production;
  • Manage all aspects of telemarketing campaigns, including script development;
  • Oversee the vetting process for all marketing copy, including editing, proofreading, and ensuring all appropriate staff have signed off;
  • Track, report and reconcile all expenses for the direct marketing program;
  • Manage and supervise production of in-house development materials as needed;
  • Serve as primary supervisor to the Marketing and Membership Assistant;
  • Oversee the submission of Marketing invoices for billing;
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications 

  • Excellent organizational skills;
  • The ability to work both independently and on a team, the ability to juggle and prioritize multiple tasks in a deadline-driven environment and show strong attention to detail;
  • Must be a strong writer, editor, and proofreader.
  • Two to four years of relevant experience preferred;
  • Knowledge of Excel, as well as direct marketing or fundraising experience preferred;
  • A commitment and passion to elect Democratic pro-choice Women, as well as a commitment to the diversity of our candidates, membership, partners, and staff.

The salary for this position is $62,000 to $70,000 and comes with a comprehensive benefits package. The starting pay for this position is equal to others at the same level throughout the organization. Our office is based in Washington, DC. This position is based in the DC office with a hybrid schedule requiring at least 3 days per week in office.
