Master’s degree or higher from an accredited institution in public health, health promotion, healthy policy, or health education and six years of appropriate experience required.
Familiar with competency standards for certifications and licensures, including CHES/MCHES, CPH, RDN, and LDN.
Knowledge of national regulations and recommendations for health promotion departments such as ACHA, NASPA, SOPHE, CAS Standards, Commission on Dietetic Registration, etc.
Experience in higher education settings as a program administrator.
Demonstrable commitment to promoting and enhancing diversity and gender equity.
Strong ability to articulate the intersection of health and social justice.
Minimum of three years of full-time supervisory experience of professional staff.
Experience managing substantial budgets.
Strong background in assessment and evaluation.
Demonstrated experience in implementing evidence and theory-based programming, policies, and other initiatives.
Certified or eligible to obtain certifications, such as MCHES or CPH.
Familiarity with social marketing and health communication strategies.
Active member of at least one professional organization.
Demonstrated commitment for continuing education.
Understanding of the dimensions of wellness and how different content areas intersect.
Understanding of intersections between gender equity, health, and academic success.
Strong oral and written communication.
Familiar with FERPA, Title IX, HIPAA, Campus SaVE Act, and other compliance standards and reporting practices.
