Office Assistant (part-time position)

The position requires excellent oral and written communication skills, comfort taking/making phone calls, and superior skills with Microsoft Office applications, Google Suite, Adobe products, and social media. The ideal candidate is very organized and detail-oriented and able to work independently and as part of a team, exercising sound judgment, and meeting deadlines. The position reports to the Executive Director and takes direction from the Associate Director and Operations Manager. Background in women’s, gender, sexuality, feminist, and/or ethnic studies and/or related course is not required, but highly valued. The position is in Chicago, IL.
· Answer all incoming phone calls with a customer service approach
- Process institutional and individual memberships, with attention to detail and accuracy
- Process conference registrations, with attention to detail and accuracy
- Process payment information, with attention to detail and accuracy
- Ensuring quality and accurate information is maintained in membership database
- Creating and emailing receipts
- Managing voicemails
- File paperwork
- Post on social media
- Perform clerical tasks as assigned
- Escalate/ask questions to NWSA Staff
- Assist Executive Director when necessary
Dates and Compensation
The position would start in July 2019 and last through the summer with the possibility for renewal for the fall. Compensation is $18/hour (negotiable) for approximately 10-15 hours a week, with a possibility of more hours.
