State and Local Campaigns Coordinator

SUMMARY
EMILYs List, the nation’s largest resource for women in politics, is searching for a State and Local Campaigns Coordinator to join our State and Local Campaigns team. The Coordinator will serve as the primary point of contact for assigned Regional Directors of the State and Local team.

Essential Job Functions

  • Works directly with a corps of Regional Directors and Finance Directors to track and provide support to races in assigned states;
  • Provides reports, trip briefings, endorsement memos, data tracking and other administrative work that helps Regional Directors and Finance
  • Directors advise on races and work with candidates;
  • Works directly with the Regional Directors and the Endorsement Manager to track and administer the endorsement process;
  • As needed, assists the Regional Directors with planning the start-up of targeted campaigns, including identifying and/or vetting staff, setting up initial plans, and working with the candidate to hone her skills;
  • Assists the Vice President, Senior Director, and Regional Directors as needed with strategic partnership communication and relationships nationwide;
  • Compiles information about state and other non-federal races and candidates;
  • Assists the team in tracking electoral and recruitment opportunities with an eye to targeted pipeline development;
  • Provides recruitment, planning, logistical preparation and support for campaign trainings when needed;
  • Assists with the development of training materials and other candidate resources and tools;
  • Uses Every Action and other databases to assist in the management of data, analytics and institutional tracking of candidates, campaigns, and other relevant state and local information;
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Note: evening and weekend work may be required based on the election cycle.

Qualifications 

  • The Coordinator must be a strong, organized planner;
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills;
  • Innovative self-starter who can work with a wide variety of people;
  • Candidates should be able to handle multiple projects and deadlines at once and prioritize them.
  • Working knowledge of Google Suite and Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) is essential.
  • Experience with Every Action is a plus;
  • Experience as a staffer on a campaign or working for a caucus is preferred.
  • All candidates must possess a strong interest in electing Democratic pro-choice women to office and a commitment to the diversity of our staff, candidates, membership, and partners.

The salary for this position is $61,000 and comes with a comprehensive benefits package. The starting pay for this position is equal to others at the same level throughout the organization. Our office is based in Washington, DC. This position is based in the DC office with a hybrid schedule requiring at least 3 days per week in office.
