About A is For: 

A is For is a New York City based nonprofit organization that amplifies art and artists working to advance reproductive rights and end the stigma against abortion. Art is a powerful tool for change, and through our creative initiatives we seek to elevate the human experience of abortion.

Job Description: 

As A is For enters our 10th year, we are looking for a part-time communications consultant to create and implement an organizational communications strategy.  Job responsibilities include:

  • Create and implement an overall communications strategy for our 10th Anniversary and beyond.
  • Oversee our social media and liaise with our social media manager.
  • Coordinate with artists who work on our campaigns; and
  • Work as a member of the A is For team and Board Committee (attending virtual meetings, as needed).

Qualifications:

  • Experience in nonprofit communications, including branding, messaging, and social media.
  • Experience in creating and successfully implementing a communications strategy in a nonprofit setting.
  • Experience in leading efficient meetings with various stakeholders, including staff, board, and donors.
  • Passion and knowledge of reproductive justice and abortion access.

Time Commitment & Compensation

This is a part time, independent contractor position not to exceed 30 hours per month. The consultant will be compensated $50/hour.  Work can be performed from anywhere in the United States.
