As a Quality Assurance Specialist, you will:

Provide technical expertise to line organizations in the development and oversight of quality assurance programs and processes to ensure DOE objectives are identified and technically assessed.
Provide technical advice and direction on quality assurance program development and implementation, e.g., serving as the DOE technical expert in investigating the latest industry trends and developments in quality management to assess their value in restructuring DOE’s quality management approaches.
Coordinate DOE validation of contractor programs and ensure critical milestones are met.
Research and/or interpret requirements, standards, and directives and ensures implementation of applicable policies and procedures; Prepare technical reports, conduct special studies.
Keep abreast of technical developments and current quality assurance regulations and standards issued for nuclear and non-nuclear facilities through the study of current literature, research and development reports, and attendance at meetings, conferences, and symposia.
Assess the implementation of the contractor quality assurance programs, identify vulnerabilities and/or issues, evaluate contractor development of appropriate corrective action(s) where needed, ensure proper implementation of corrective action(s), and track action(s) to closure. Serve as the technical liaison for quality assurance matters.
