Chicas Poderosas is looking for a professional, motivated, engaged and self-initiated person who believes in teamwork and collaboration, with experience working on gender issues and in Latin America, to work in the strategic management of the organization’s programs. The objective of the person occupying this role will be to direct all communications staff, manage all the organization’s social media content and channels, this includes Instagram account, Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, as well as web and newsletter in conjunction with the communications and strategy team. This role will also co-create, co-lead, and help coordinate all programs and projects of Chicas Poderosas with the Program Director. This includes strategizing, planning, coordinating diverse and international teams, and managing the implementation of Chicas Poderosas’ programs in a way that aligns with our code of conduct, mission and values. These activities directly impact the mission of the organization, as well as its financial goals.

This position requires a full-time work commitment – 40 hours per week. The work is remote. We are looking for a person with:

• Training in communication management and social media
• At least 5 years of experience in a relevant field
• Has an intersectional feminist perspective and intercultural fluency
• Experience working with Latin American countries on social issues, especially on gender and diversities
• Spanish fluency, English proficiency, and proficiency in Portuguese is desired.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Spanish required, with English highly preferred
• Ability to think creatively, take initiative, and direct your own work efforts
• Strong commitment and ability to meet deadlines
• Highly organized and punctual
• Experience working in a nonprofit environment, preferably with journalistic and training projects
• Experiences in digital content creation, social media campaigns, and social mobilization through digital media
• Experience working with remote, international and diverse teams and working with collaborative dynamics
• Knowledge of online platforms such as Google Drive, Zoom, and Slack
• Experience with search engine marketing, Google Analytics, and Google AdWords
• Embraces team and commitment as the path forward, contributing for a good team support spirit
• Belonging to the Chicas Poderosas community is highly preferred.
• Fundraising experience preferred

Communications (60%):

Lead, design, implement, and evaluate Chicas Poderosas’ comprehensive communication’s strategy
Design, implement, supervise, and/or evaluate the organization’s communications strategy, including social media presence, press, monthly newsletter, representation at events, production of web contents, supervision of Membership communications, and support and coordination for Chicas Poderosas chapters’ communications strategies.
Work together with the Social Media Manager to design, implement and assess Chicas Poderosas social media strategy in all active platforms.
Supervise the work of the social media manager.
Lead efforts to ensure Chicas Poderosas visibility in the media, pursuing interview opportunities, responding to requests for interviews and information from media outlets.
Create and edit a monthly newsletter sent to over 11,000 contacts.
Monitor newsletter performance and compile contacts in the database, in coordination with the different chapters.
Write and/or edit articles or blog posts on Chicas Poderosas programs and activities for the organization’s website.
Coordinate the presence of Chicas Poderosas at events, conferences and forums, and actively seek opportunities for Chicas Poderosas to showcase its work, and represent Chicas Poderosas at conferences and forums.
Organize or support the organization of events to increase the visibility of Chicas Poderosas work and the members of its community.
Coordinate and supervise the creation of audiovisual materials for Chicas Poderosas.
Support the ED in the preparation of presentations to showcase Chicas Poderosas programs and community.
Create materials and contact the organization team, board members and sponsors to keep them up to date with Chicas Poderosas news.
Supervise the work of the Communications manager and the Social media manager.
Support the development of Chicas Poderosas global community and chapters’ projects
Periodically update Chicas Poderosas communications guidelines and provide materials for the chapters to keep an active and aligned social media and communications presence.

Programs (30%):  Co-lead and Co-direct the efforts for all Chicas Poderosas programs including:

Co-design the programs with the Program Director.
Help recruit for and define teams for the programs
List activities and resources for each of the programs and respective teams.
Help design work flows to carry out the programs
Prepare Gantt charts for each of the programs and clear job descriptions  for each of the teams.
Organize weeklies with teams to follow up on their tasks, coordinate efforts, and solve problems that might emerge along the process.
Coordinate the work of the communications team running Chicas Poderosas programs. Provide support and mentoring to project team members when needed.
Co-supervise the work of the impact analysts for each of the programs, together with the Program Director (review proposals, support their work, comment on the final reports).

Development & Fundraising (10%): Grow the direction of the organization including:

Organize regular meetings with the global team to do strategic planning, socialize goals, plans and co-create.
Evaluate, together with the impact analyst and the Program Director, the efficiency of the programs, and redesign programs if necessary.
Track all program related reports and deliverables to ensure goals are met on time and within budget.
Write and submit monthly, quarterly, or annual funder reports as requested.
Help write proposals for new funding opportunities.

This job will require 8 hours per day and the salary is $2,000 USD per month, depending on experience and according to average US and Latin American standards. The person will be hired for 6 months, with the possibility of extension.
