Salary: $17/hour not to exceed 40 hours/week
About the internship:
The Hub’s Communications team is currently accepting applications for its Spring 2021 Internship. This is a paid internship at a pay rate of $17/hour. All applicants must be available to take on a full-time internship for a minimum of 40 hours a week. We’re a fast-moving organization that’s always ready to jump into the next fight, so the right person for the internship is not afraid of taking on new opportunities to move people to action and quickly responding to an ever-changing news cycle.
As an intern for our Communications team, you will:
Write and edit materials, including media advisories, press releases, and opinion pieces
Conduct basic research on the media and political landscape to advance The Hub’s day-to-day campaigns
Track press coverage on developing stories and campaigns
Build and maintain targeted media lists and help pitch stories and events
Perform other duties as assigned.
You have a demonstrated interest in progressive causes
You’re a skilled writer with the ability to modify messages and tone to move particular audiences
You’re an effective multitasker
You’re extremely organized, detail-oriented, and analytical
You’ve got a sense of humor, entrepreneurialism, and an openness to evolving responsibilities
In addition, it would be a bonus if:
You have experience drafting social media content, press materials, campaign plans, and/or research papers
You have experience working on progressive issue campaigns
