Do you have a passion for social justice and improving systems’ responses to victims of domestic violence? Are you someone who is invested in our vision that domestic violence can and must come to an end for the next generation? The Pennsylvania Coalition Against Domestic Violence (PCADV) is dedicated to reducing, preventing, and educating the community about domestic violence. We are currently seeking an CONTRACT ATTORNEY to assist our in-house legal team with our social justice work.
The Contract Attorney will draw upon their experiences in the practice of law and knowledge of the civil and criminal justice systems to provide effective strategies and information to victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking and dating violence in their quest for safety, justice and restoration.
Your primary responsibilities will include:
Assist with the service delivery of both a statewide, toll-free and email-accessible Civil Legal Helpline and website enabled chat.
Provide expert legal information and brief services to victims through the Civil Legal Helpline during regular business hours.
Conduct legal research on civil and criminal legal issues affecting victims of domestic and sexual violence, stalking, and dating violence.
Provide technical assistance on legal issues to judges, attorneys and DA’s in Pennsylvania.
To be considered for this role, you must be licensed to practice law in the Commonwealth of PA, have at least two (2) years’ experience in this type of practice and understand this is a contract position to cover for a Military Leave of extended duration. We anticipate the position being in place for one (1) year.
