THE OPPORTUNITY:

The Data and Reporting Department is a new department under the Outreach umbrella at ActBlue. The Data Services Manager will report to the Outreach Data & Reporting Director. Their primary role will be to develop, maintain, and support the Outreach Department’s data and reporting needs by creating systems that align current and future data insights with the department’s goals. They will also work with Outreach leadership to build reporting structures, manage Data Services associates, and collaborate cross-departmentally to ensure data standards are current and accurate.

This role will serve as a leader within the Outreach Department and oversee the Data Services subteam that reports and provides insight on the work of account management teams. They will work in tandem with the Outreach Data and Reporting Director and Outreach Data Systems Manager to ensure teams have the information needed to monitor and achieve goals. They will also automate processes and tasks to ensure Outreach staff has the visibility and awareness they need to understand and assist the entities utilizing ActBlue tools.

 

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

Based on established Outreach-wide priorities, craft and execute Outreach Data and Reporting strategic goals and objectives in conjunction with the ODR Director.
Help lead the unified alignment of Outreach data and reporting infrastructure to maximize the efficiency and effectiveness of team.
Manage a team of various staff levels responsible for data capture, maintenance, and reporting to measure Outreach progress to goals, effectiveness of outreach strategies, and depth of ActBlue market share.
Facilitate large scale data and reporting projects with multiple stakeholders within ActBlue and ATS to enhance existing infrastructure and develop new methods of leveraging internal resources.
Advise the ODR Director and other senior leaders within Outreach on data insights, providing both rapid response and in-depth analysis to shape goals, priorities and processes for the department.
Collaborate with account management teams to address Outreach and external user resource needs that inform program strategies aimed at relationship building and increasing usage of ActBlue tools usage.
Identify opportunities for increased data partnerships and integrations based on Outreach needs, including political and nonprofit data infrastructure.

WHAT YOU BRING:

Six or more years of experience manipulating, analyzing, and reporting on a wide variety of data sets.
Four or more years of managing a midsized team in a fast paced environment.
Strong quantitative and analytical skills with Excel, SQL, and BI Tools tools, such as Looker, required.
Experience creating robust work plans and executing large-scale project management.
Ability to communicate technical ideas and analyses, both verbally and in writing, to a non-technical audience.
Demonstrated experience defining scope, benchmarks, and goals of long term projects with a wide variety of stakeholders.
Ability to transform complex data sets into simple visuals and dashboards, with working knowledge of the front-end and back-end of a CRM or voter file.
Demonstrated experience working collaboratively and building relationships with teams across departments.
Experience working on an interdisciplinary team where skill-sharing and professional development are encouraged.

LOCATION AND COMPENSATION:

This posting is for a full-time, salaried position. This can be a fully remote position, or can work out of the ActBlue’s office located in Davis Square in Somerville, MA, just a few blocks from the MBTA Red Line.  ActBlue is authorized to support remote work in these states: Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, Washington, Washington D.C., and Wisconsin.

 

Salary Range:$  – $ depending on experience

 

This supervisory role is not part of the Bargaining Unit position: Certain employees who report to this position may be covered by a collective bargaining agreement.
