Launched in 2016, The Hub is a nonprofit effort comprised of a growing team of communications, research, operations, and organizing experts who have extensive experience in campaign strategy, digital, and polling and analytics. We believe in a country where everyone has the opportunity to succeed in our economy and participate in our democracy, and we make that vision a reality by partnering with advocacy groups – bringing surge capacity and coordination to build innovative and effective campaigns.

Position Summary
The Hub is looking for a Digital Content Manager to bring digital strategy and writing support to our Democracy advocacy work in a full-time, temporary role beginning on December 1, 2020 and ending May 31, 2021 (6 months). We’re working to change the rules of our democracy so that they work for every single American. We’re looking for someone who can bring that message to life across digital platforms.

The Digital Content Manager will produce compelling social, website, and video content that taps into the ongoing democracy conversation and drives the narrative forward. We’re looking for someone who’s tracking the latest trends and conversations on social media; understands what kind of content performs well on various online platforms; can write short- or long-form; and can develop and execute creative digital content. The ideal candidate has experience with fast-moving work and responding to breaking news.

As Digital Content Manager, you are responsible for:
●      Draft and posting daily social media content for two campaigns, with the understanding that the world of Twitter extends outside of standard operating hours of 9-5
●      Analyze and track performance on Social Media channels
●      Support on development of digital content and social media strategy, including developing editorial calendars that map back to advocacy and campaign goals
●      Write and produce blast SMS messages and flows and analyze performance; manage an SMS content calendar
●      Edit and checklist emails for two campaigns and collaborate on message calendar
●      Author and edit website content for microsites or current campaign sites
●      Support with development of graphic and video content, including participating in brainstorm, copywriting, and script writing
●      Other digital projects as needed that advance our bold, progressive democracy agenda.

About you:
●      You are committed to a just and inclusive economy that delivers opportunity and dignity to all Americans and passionate about preserving and strengthening our democracy.
●      You have experience working directly with people from diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
●      You have experience incorporating the perspectives of multiple communities, specifically marginalized communities, in considering the impact and outcomes of decision-making.
●      You know how to analyze social media and SMS performance and when/how to pivot based on the numbers.
●      You have experience working directly with people from diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
●      You’re a writer who can write content for multiple voices for various platforms.
●      You spend your time reading up on the trends and updates for social media platforms and are ready to help others catch up.
●      You have experience working on rapid response or in a fast-paced environment.
●      You have 1-3 election cycles of experience.
