IT Specialist (Remote)

SUMMARY:

The IT Specialist will work to provide operations support for NextGen’s state and national programs. They will work to support the Director of Technology with the management of day-to-day IT operations, particularly with regard to end user support, documentation, and onboarding and offboarding flows.

 

This role will report to the Director of Technology.

This is a fully remote position but may require the ability to securely receive packages on behalf of the organization and may require some travel. We encourage candidates from all locations within the United States to apply.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Triage support requests within our ticketing system and Slack.
Manage user onboarding and offboarding processes.
Train users on company tech platforms and policies.
Securely receive, store, prep, and ship technology on behalf of the organization as required.
Proactively maintain the security and integrity of data and platforms within the environment.
License and user account management across our SaaS cloud platforms.
Documentation of IT processes and maintenance of self help documentation.
Other duties as assigned.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES DESIRED:

Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills
Excellent interpersonal skills necessary to maintain effective relationships with partners and staff, in person and remote.
Effective communication skills, including speaking, writing, and active listening.
1 year or more experience supporting and troubleshooting Mac OS and iOS devices.
2 years or more experience in an IT helpdesk role.
Working knowledge in the administration and support of Google Apps, Slack, Office 365.
Working knowledge of networking technologies and support.
Ability to work independently and proactively on tasks.
Frequent to constant use of hands/fingers/arms: position requires 7-8 hours per day of constant operation of a computer, phone, and other office machinery.

 

BONUS POINTS FOR:

Experience working with and supporting staff remotely.
Certifications such as but not limited to CompTIA A+, Net+, Sec+, Cisco certifications, Google IT Support.
Experience supporting any distributed organizing or political organization.

 

COMPENSATION:

The compensation range for this position is between $34.62 – $40.86 per hour. Compensation will be based on experience. NextGen America also offers a very comprehensive benefits package.
