MCASA is Maryland’s sexual assault coalition and includes the State’s certified rape crisis centers and other organizations and individuals concerned with ending sexual violence.  MCASA includes a legal division, SALI (the Sexual Assault Legal Institute), and a Program Division which includes training, technical assistance, and prevention designed to respond to and end sexual violence in the state of Maryland.

MCASA is seeking a part-time bookkeeper to help support our daily operations. This position has some flexibility and could be suitable for a recent graduate, a current student, or a seasoned administrative professional. It also has some flexibility regarding work week and hours. MCASA’s team is passionate about ending sexual violence and committed to taking care of themselves and one another.

Position Overview

MCASA’s Part-time Bookkeeper will assist our Grants and Finance team, providing the operational support critical to allowing MCASA to help sexual assault survivors. The Bookkeeper assists with accounting, payroll, and data management for the agency. This is a part-time, remote position that reports directly to MCASA’s Finance & Operations Manager.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Assist in the reporting of timesheet data to payroll vendor and recording of payroll into Quickbooks.
  • Assist in the verification and paying of bills, allocating as appropriate to grants.
  • Assist in the entry of accounting information into QuickBooks as necessary, including vendor/employee information.

Qualifications

  • Experience in accounting, payroll, or other discipline requiring working with numbers.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills. Ability to communicate in person, by phone, via email, and in writing required.
  • Knowledge of Quickbooks.
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines and work under pressure.
  • Ability to work remotely (equipment is provided by agency).
  • Availability to work 8-16 hours per week.
  • Fluent in English.
