The Newberg-Dundee Police Department is currently hiring for a Reserve Police Officer position. Candidates must complete a department application.

All candidates must also complete the Frontline National tests for this position. Testing must be completed, and scores must be submitted with the application before October 4, 2024. Additionally, candidates must complete the ORPAT (Physical Test) in under 5 minutes and 30 seconds. Both the written and physical tests can be scheduled through the National Testing Network.

Driver’s License: Must have a valid Oregon driver’s license
Ability to Read/Speak English: Yes
Vision and Hearing Acuity: Must meet the Department of Public Safety Standards and Training (DPSST) requirements as outlined in Oregon Administrative Rules (OARs)
College: Not Required
Academy Certification: Not Required

Felony conviction under state or federal law
Misdemeanor conviction related to domestic violence, sex crimes, fraud, or moral turpitude
Any misdemeanor conviction within the last five years
Convictions for minor in possession of alcohol within the last 12 months
Conviction for a major traffic offense or DUII diversion within the last five years
Criminal (felony/misdemeanor) license suspension within the last five years
Three or more hazardous traffic violation convictions within the last two years
Careless driving conviction within the last three years
Conviction for an open container violation within the last 12 months
Conviction for a Class A traffic violation within the last three years
Five or more traffic violation convictions within the last three years
Possession, sale, distribution, manufacture, or use of an illegal drug within the last 10 years
Discharge from the Armed Forces classified as Other than Honorable, Bad Conduct, or Dishonorable
No valid operator’s license, expired license, or suspended license
Driving Disqualifiers:

Conviction for a major traffic offense or DUII diversion within the last five years
Criminal (felony/misdemeanor) operator’s license suspension within the last five years
Three or more hazardous traffic violation convictions within the last two years
Careless driving conviction within the last two years
Conviction for an open container of alcohol violation within the last 12 months
Conviction of a Class A traffic violation within the last three years
Five or more traffic violation convictions within the last three years
No valid operator’s license, expired, or suspended license
Drug Use Disqualifiers:

Possession, sale, distribution, manufacture, or use of an illegal drug within the last 10 years
Personal use of marijuana within the last two years
Employment Disqualifiers:

Missing any scheduled appointment during the process without prior permission
Discipline by any employer (including military) as an adult for abuse of leave, gross insubordination, or failure to follow established policies and regulations
Involuntary dismissal (except for layoffs) from two or more employers as an adult
Work history that indicates an inability to maintain long-term relationships with employers or work toward long-term goals
Resigning from a paid position without notice (except where a hostile work environment is alleged)
Financial Disqualifiers:

Personal bankruptcy more than once
Current financial obligations for which legal judgments have not been satisfied
Wages currently being garnished or a history of financial instability
Additional Disqualifiers:

Discharge from the Armed Forces classified as Other than Honorable, Bad Conduct, or Dishonorable
Must have good moral fitness, as determined by a thorough background investigation
