Location: Washington D.C. (Remote through 2021)
Status: Full time; Exempt (This position is included in a union-represented collective bargaining unit; specific employment terms and conditions are subject to labor-management negotiations and a potential Collective Bargaining Agreement.)
Salary Range: $45,000 to $55,000

Position Summary

We’re looking for a Research Associate to join a dynamic and growing Policy and Research team here at the Hub Project. The Research Associate will work closely with the Associate Director for Policy & Research and the rest of the team to engage on issue advocacy in a manner that furthers the Hub Project’s mission. Our team produces persuasive, effective research and policy materials that power and strengthen the Hub’s issue advocacy campaigns, all of which are dedicated to producing a more just and inclusive democracy and economy.

As a Research Associate, you will:

  • Work with the Associate Director, as well as the rest of the Hub team, to support the timely development of persuasive analyses that complement and advance our issue advocacy campaigns.
  • Draft everything from internal factsheets to products for public release.
    Help translate sometimes dense policy research into digestible and useful information for internal and public distribution.
  • Fact-check materials and ensure that all our arguments are backed up with solid evidence and advance our policy aims.
  • Contribute to the development of new ideas for products and analyses that can advance our arguments and support our goals.
  • Provide support to the development of rapid-response materials when breaking news and/or unexpected events affect our campaigns.
  • Collaborate with Hub Project staff on other teams (digital, communications, campaigns) to meet their research needs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
