Position description: The National Latina Institute for Reproductive Justice (Latina Institute) is seeking a Social Media Manager to maintain and grow Latina Institute’s social media networks. The Social Media Manager will manage the day-to-day social media operations from content ideation to creation to execution and develop a social media strategy to educate and engage our audience on reproductive justice issues. The Social Media Manager will report to the Digital Engagement Director in the Communications Department.

The Social Media Manager is a digitally savvy strategist who understands the language of the internet and can grasp the complex and interrelated dynamics of reproductive justice work and distill those concepts into social media content. Candidates should be detail-oriented, proactive, and possess excellent project planning and managing skills while working in a cross-team collaborative environment. Candidates must have prior experience in social media and a knowledge of reproductive justice.

Responsibilities Include: 

  • Develop and implement the organization’s overall social media strategy
  • Develop Latina Institute’s brand voice and tone on social media channels
  • Lead editorial process for daily social media content and campaigns
  • Develop weekly content that is informative, appealing, and on-brand
  • Oversee live content creation and amplification in high leverage moments (i.e. live Tweet, rallies)
  • Create, curate, and manage all published content across all social media platforms
  • Provide guidance on social media strategy to our state teams in Florida, New York, Texas, and Virginia
  • Work closely with department leads to develop and execute campaign and/or program-specific social media strategy and plans
  • Provide community management on social media platforms
  • Utilize social media platforms to maximize digital list building
  • Conceptualize and design graphics for social media
  • Create weekly social metric reports and perform analysis on the performance of posts, audience growth and engagement
  • Track and measure the success of social media campaigns, and optimize content and drive social strategy based on its performance
  • Utilize social listening tools to deepen engagement with audience
  • Analyze and use metrics to create strategies to improve them to reach new audiences, attract them to our work, and convert them into supporters (volunteers, donors)
  • Stay up to date with latest social media best practices and technologies

Qualifications Required: 

  • Demonstrated commitment to reproductive justice, immigrant women’s rights, Latinx civil rights, social and racial justice
  • At least 2 years with social media management experience including running social media for a nonprofit or electoral campaign
  • Applicable experience and understanding of marketing, grassroots organizing, and supporter engagement
  • Familiarity with latest technologies and best practices in the field
  • Mastery of social media platforms, including but not limited to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube, as well as social media management platforms, like Sprout Social or Agorapulse — and its features
  • Experience developing and successfully running paid social digital programs
  • Experience working across departments or teams within an organization
  • Must have experience growing social media audiences and increasing engagement amongst audience, and proven experience capturing and tracking analytics, and using them to shape strategy
  • Experience developing and successfully running paid social digital programs
  • Independent and strong leader that is able to drive project and programs to completion in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent writing and communication skills
  • Must demonstrate experience writing for the web and social media
  • Results-focused and organized
  • Ability to work outside of traditional hours as the need arises. This is not an ideal position for someone who seeks a 9a-5p job
  • Entrepreneurial mindset, with strong problem-solving and creative thinking skills
  • Bilingual (Spanish and English) preferred

Salary & Benefits: $65,000-$75,000 and will be commensurate based on experience. Our comprehensive package of benefits includes:
