Spring Development Operations and Research Intern
The Development Department at GLBTQ Legal Advocates & Defenders (GLAD) is looking for an intern to help fulfill the Development Department’s need in general operations and research. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to impact social justice issues in a very practical way and gain hands-on experience in fundraising, research, and donor relations. Join us and gain further insight into working in a non-profit organization and non-profit research!
· Data entry and clean-up (Salesforce)
· Assistance with mailings
· Draft correspondence to donors
· Conduct prospect, corporate, and foundation research
· Calling donors to thank them for their support and invite them to events as needed
· Other fundraising support as needed
All interns will receive training in the Salesforce database and the iWave database.
A desire to work in non-profit development. A commitment to help tear down more of the outdated laws and stereotypes that have denied LGBTQ people and people living with HIV basic protections and opportunities in every area of daily life – family, school, employment, housing, government, health care, and beyond. The ability to take direction, work independently, show initiative, and follow through are musts. Excellent attention to detail and a willingness to ask questions are also critical.
This is a part-time (15 hours/week), internship. A stipend of $750 is available for interns meeting certain hours requirements during their internship. Time commitment is relatively flexible, ideally intern would begin in January and stay through mid to late May. GLAD’s remote office hours are 9am-5pm but remote work offers some flexibility in this area.
