Poland Team Lead

The Mission of the Poland Team Lead in the Ukraine Crisis Response is to lead on VOICE’s emergency response work in Poland through highlighting and supporting women’s leadership in the Ukraine Crisis Response.  With the ultimate goal of enhancing the protective environment for women and girls in all their diversity and other at-risk groups affected by the Ukraine crisis, the Poland Team Lead will work directly with activists and groups to identify and respond to the different humanitarian needs of women and girls, particularly through organizations, networks, and collectives they lead.

Responsibilities

Management and Leadership
·       Understanding the landscape of humanitarian and women’s movement work and gaps in Poland, support and guide the strategic vision and plans for VOICE in Poland.
·       Work with key INGO partners and donors to coordinate and support creating a more protective environment for women and girls.  This includes but is not limited to work with CARE, CORE, USA, and HIAS
·       Lead and manage a diverse and multi-disciplined team to continue to evolve feminist practices and approaches as an INGO

Partnership and Movement Support
·       Work with and identify key Polish partner organizations and support their efforts in the refugee response as well as overall movement building work to ensure organizations exist well past this emergency response and are strengthened for future crises and responsive to the needs of women and girls in Poland
·       Support frontline actors in transit sites and shelters in urban and rural settings to address PSEA and other key protection concerns exacerbated by the crisis, including in relation to information, awareness, referrals, systems, access to services and reporting mechanisms and coordination – with the aim of positively influencing systems
·       Work with partners to support the provision of information at border crossings, transit sites and in train and bus stations around key protection concerns (i.e., trafficking risks) and access to services and onward movement, including for PSEA
·       On-going mapping of key WROs, networks and collectives in Poland from the perspective of service delivery, funding needs, capacity strengthening and security
·       Capacity sharing support for identified partners to pivot their programming towards gender-based violence in emergencies to respond in the acute and protracted crisis phases of the response

Advocacy and Bridge-building
·       Lead on Poland Coordination efforts and ensure that key messages are reaching local organizations and if and when desired, ensure the voices of local organizations are present and supported to represent the needs of women and girls in specific coordination structures including but not limited to the Protection Working Group (WG), the Gender-Based Violence Sub-Working Group (GBV SWG), CASH WG, Child Protection SWG etc.
·       Document partner and VOICE experience in policy briefs and develop advocacy messages with and on behalf of organizations and groups in Poland as well as refugee women and girls

Operations
·       Oversee and support VOICE’s operational presence including but not limited to registration to ensure work in Poland can continue effectively, vendor contracts and payments
·       Support and lead on the set-up VOICE office and registration to ensure work in Poland can continue and build upon the findings from the GBV Rapid Assessment in Poland and the on-going VOICE work.  This will include the design of a sustainable activist artistic and activist space.
·       Support donor reporting and monitoring and evaluation of activities under our partnership agreements with VOICE’s donors

Qualifications & Competencies

·       Visionary Leader with experience in inclusive strategy design and implementation and team building
·       Deep commitment to VOICE’s core values and ability to model those values in relationships and communities we serve
·       Independent leader who is self-aware with an ethos of collaboration, inclusiveness, patience, and acceptance
·       Background in non-professionalized organizing spaces – especially feminist & gender justice spaces – highly preferred
·       Knowledge and experience with donor funding and/or feminist philanthropy and/or UN systems
·       ‍Excellent communication – written and verbal – in English and Polish required; additional language fluencies welcome
·       Analytical problem-solver with strong organizational skills
·       Strong experience in training, facilitation, and partner capacity building skills
·       Seeking to work within a growing organization and play a critical role in its future growth
·       Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 7 years of experience (to include unpaid professional work) in a related field; or the appropriate combination of education and experience
·       1 year of experience working as part of remote, global team managing the relationships & time differences – highly preferred

Annual salary starts at USD$66,000.  Final terms of salary will be discussed based on level of experience.
