Job Classification: Temporary Youth Specialist

The Berrien County Juvenile Center is currently hiring to fill multiple Temporary Youth Specialist positions. The department requires the completion of their application which can be found here. They also require the completion of the IMPACT test through NTN.

Job Requirements
Citizenship Required: Must be legal to work in the United States

Valid MICHIGAN Driver’s License: Mandatory

Ability to Read/Speak English: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several variables in unusual situations.

Vision: The candidate must test his/her vision at 20/40 or better (Corrected).

College: Thirty semester or forty-five quarter hours of college education, which includes three semester or four quarter hours of psychology.

Valid State Driver’s License: Mandatory

Hiring Process: Upon meeting the above qualifications, the applicant must:

Pass a background investigation to the County’s satisfaction.
Successfully pass an interview process with the Juvenile Center’s Interview Board.

Applicants must take and pass a pre-employment medical examination for a physically demanding job and a drug test paid for by the County before the Juvenile Center extends an offer.
Schedule: The Temporary Youth Specialist works as an on-call employee to fill temporary vacancies in the full-time Youth Specialist schedule. Participates in supervising and reporting on programs.
