Salary Information: $34.78 – $45.25 Hourly
The City of West Linn Police Department is currently hiring for the position of Police Officer. This role involves law enforcement work to maintain public peace and order, protect life and property, and prevent crime. Officers enforce federal, state, and local laws and ordinances while conducting patrol and investigative activities. Public relations and crime prevention are key responsibilities of this role. Up to 17% additional pay is possible for education and certification upon hire.

If you already have a valid and current test (taken within six months of your application date), you may submit it instead of retaking the test.

Job Requirements:
Age: 21
Citizenship: U.S. Citizenship required
High School Grad / GED: Yes
Driver’s License: Valid driver’s license (any state)
Minimum Qualifications:
Experience as a reserve officer who has completed DPSST certified reserve academy training, or experience as a civilian/military law enforcement officer with at least one year of experience is preferred. Equivalent experience may be considered by the hiring authority.
High school diploma or GED required; an Associate Degree from an accredited college or university is preferred.
Must obtain basic certification from the Department of Public Safety Standards and Training (DPSST) within one year from the time of appointment.
Candidates must pass all medical, physical, written, oral, and psychological examinations.
