Position Overview
Forward California is seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to join our
team and spearhead our Statewide organizing efforts as the volunteer Field
Organizing Coordinator. This leadership position reports directly to the California
Co-chairs of the Forward Party. You should expect to be able to allocate up to 8
hours/week in this position.
This role requires a skilled individual who can seamlessly blend digital and
physical organizing strategies to engage and mobilize communities, build
relationships, and drive participation in our party’s initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

This position will lead a remote team of volunteers to assist with the following
activities:
Strategic Planning:
● Develop and implement comprehensive field organizing strategies to
achieve campaign goals.
● Collaborate with campaign leadership to align field activities with
broader party objectives.
Digital Organizing:
● Leverage digital tools and platforms to create targeted campaigns,
mobilize supporters, and expand the party’s online presence.
● Coordinate virtual events, webinars, and social media campaigns to
engage and connect with diverse audiences.
Physical Organizing:
● Recruit, train, and coordinate a team of chapter leads and field
organizers across various regions in California.
● Plan and execute in-person events, canvassing, phone banks, and
community outreach efforts.
Community Engagement:
● Cultivate relationships with local community leaders, activists, and
influencers to broaden the party’s reach.
● Identify opportunities for collaboration with grassroots organizations
and community groups.
Data Management:
● Utilize data-driven insights to inform organizing strategies, track
progress, and adjust tactics as needed.
● Ensure accurate and timely reporting of field activities and metrics.
Strategic Planning:
● Contribute to the development of the party’s long-term strategic
plans, ensuring that field operations objectives are aligned with
broader organizational goals.
● Participate in strategic discussions to shape the party’s overall vision
and direction.

Qualifications:

● A bachelor’s degree in Political Science, Public Administration,
Communications, or a related field is preferred. Equivalent work
experience may be considered in lieu of a formal degree.

● Proven experience in both digital and physical organizing, with a track
record of successful campaign engagement.
● Previous leadership roles in political campaigns or community
organizing efforts.
● Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to
articulate the party’s message effectively.
● Demonstrated ability to recruit, train, and lead a team of field
organizers.
● Familiarity with digital organizing tools, social media platforms, and
data management systems.
● Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and evolving political landscape.
● A genuine commitment to Forward values and an understanding of
the unique challenges facing California.
