Position Overview
Forward California is seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to join our
team as the volunteer Fundraising, Growth, and Development Coordinator. This
leadership position reports directly to the California Co-chairs of the Forward
Party. You should expect to be able to allocate up to 8 hours/week in this position.
This role will play a pivotal part in expanding our fundraising base, collaborating
with internal and external teams, and cultivating strategic partnerships to advance
our mission of positive change in California. The ideal candidate will bring a proven
track record in political, start-up, and/or nonprofit fundraising, strong
communication skills, and a passion for driving growth and development in a
dynamic political landscape.

Key Responsibilities:
This position will lead a remote team of volunteers to assist with the following
activities:
Fundraising Strategy:
● Develop and execute comprehensive fundraising strategies to
support the financial needs of Forward California.
● Identify and cultivate relationships with potential donors, including
individuals, businesses, and organizations.
● Organize fundraising events, campaigns, and initiatives to maximize
financial contributions.
Donor Relations:
● Establish and maintain strong relationships with donors, ensuring
effective communication and appreciation for their support.
● Implement donor stewardship programs to enhance engagement and
loyalty.
Membership Growth:
● Design and implement strategies to expand the party’s membership
base.
● Collaborate with marketing and outreach teams to create compelling
campaigns to attract new members.
Collaboration and Partnerships:
● Work collaboratively with internal teams, including communications,
policy, and field operations, to align fundraising efforts with
organizational goals.
● Identify and pursue strategic partnerships with like-minded
organizations and influencers.
Data Analysis and Reporting:
● Utilize data analytics to track and evaluate fundraising performance.
● Prepare regular reports on key metrics, trends, and the overall
financial health of the organization.
Grant Writing and Proposals:
● Research and identify potential grant opportunities to support party
initiatives.
● Develop and submit compelling grant proposals to secure additional
funding.
Event Planning:

● Plan, coordinate, and execute fundraising events, ensuring a
seamless and impactful experience for attendees.
Strategic Planning:
● Contribute to the development of the party’s long-term strategic
plans, ensuring that fundraising, growth, and development objectives
are aligned with broader organizational goals.
● Participate in strategic discussions to shape the party’s overall vision
and direction.

Qualifications:
● Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (Business, Political Science, Nonprofit
Management, Legal, etc.). Equivalent work experience may be considered
in lieu of a formal degree.
● Proven experience in fundraising, donor relations, and development within a
political, start-up, or nonprofit context.
● Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
● Ability to think strategically and creatively to drive growth.
● Experience with data analysis and reporting.
● A genuine commitment to Forward values and an understanding of the
unique challenges facing California.
