Internship – SAP Campaigns

Reports to: Intern Manager
Location: Washington, D.C. (At this time, the Hub is working from the office at least 3 days a week.)
Internship dates: Start on September 19, 2022 – Last day is December 9, 2022
Status: Full-Time; Non-Exempt
Salary: $20/hour not to exceed 40 hours/week

Launched in 2016, The Hub Project is a nonprofit effort comprised of a growing team of communications, research, operations, and organizing experts who have extensive experience in campaign strategy, digital, and polling and analytics. We believe in a country where everyone has the opportunity to succeed in our economy and participate in our democracy, and we make that vision a reality by partnering with advocacy groups – bringing surge capacity and coordination to build innovative and effective campaigns.

Position SummaryThe Hub is accepting applications for a State Accountability Project Intern to support the Campaigns department in the execution of advocacy campaigns focused on educating the public about critical economic issues and holding elected officials accountable to their constituents. Our campaigns leverage a mix of grassroots organizing, paid media, and earned media tactics to advance the goals of the Hub and its allies. This is a paid position.

As a State Accountability Project Campaigns Intern, you’ll:
Support the Hub’s campaign planning process, including drafting and editing program memos
Aid in program research and broader campaign strategy
Provide logistical support for earned media events such as town halls
Assist with storyteller recruitment and outreach
Help communicate our work to key partners
Track and report on the progress of The Hub’s various campaigns
Write and edit materials, including media advisories, press releases, and opinion pieces
Conduct basic research on the media and political landscape to advance The Hub’s day-to-day campaigns
Track press coverage on developing stories and campaigns
Conduct policy research for various campaigns, attend digital progressive movement meetings, and report back important details to the team
Assist in drafting policy reports, campaign plans, and/or digital content for The Hub’s various campaigns.
Assist with weekly media monitoring, including print, broadcast, and online coverage
