Position Overview:
Forward California is seeking a dynamic and results-oriented individual to join our
team as the volunteer Operations Coordinator. This leadership position reports
directly to the California Co-chairs of the Forward Party. You should expect to be
able to allocate up to 8 hours/week in this position.
In this pivotal role, you will play a key part in shaping the operational framework of
the party, ensuring efficiency, transparency, and compliance. The successful
candidate will work closely with party leaders, stakeholders, and volunteers to
build and maintain a strong organizational foundation.
Key Responsibilities:
This position will lead a remote team of volunteers to assist with the following
activities:
IT Management:
● Lead the development and execution of the party’s IT strategy,
ensuring the alignment of technology solutions with the overall goals
of Forward California.
● Oversee the implementation and maintenance of robust IT systems to
support efficient data management, communication, and
collaboration.
Legal Compliance and Governance:
● Ensure the party operates in full compliance with all applicable laws,
regulations, and internal policies.
● Collaborate with legal counsel to address any legal issues, navigate
compliance requirements, and manage potential risks.
Financial Oversight:
● Work with the Treasurer to manage the financial health of the party,
including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
● Work with the Treasurer to implement sound financial practices,
conduct regular audits, and ensure compliance with financial
regulations.
Continuous Improvement:
● Drive a culture of continuous improvement, identifying opportunities
to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.
● Implement strategies to optimize workflows, reduce costs, and
increase overall organizational performance.
Logistics and Procurement:
● Develop and oversee logistics and procurement processes to ensure
the timely and cost-effective acquisition of resources.
● Collaborate with vendors, negotiate contracts, and manage the
procurement lifecycle.
Processes and Procedures:
● Establish and refine operational processes and procedures to support
the smooth functioning of the party.
● Document and communicate standardized workflows to ensure
consistency and clarity across all party activities.
Strategic Planning:
● Contribute to the development of the party’s long-term strategic
plans, ensuring that operations objectives are aligned with broader
organizational goals.
● Participate in strategic discussions to shape the party’s overall vision
and direction.
Qualifications:
● Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Law, Finance, Business
Administration, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred. Equivalent
work experience may be considered in lieu of a formal degree.
● Experience working with Nationbuilder or other similar relationship
management systems.
● Proven experience in IT management, legal compliance, financial oversight,
continuous improvement, logistics and procurement, and/or process
optimization.
● Excellent leadership skills with a track record of managing cross-functional
teams.
● Familiarity with technology trends, financial best practices, and logistics
and procurement processes.
● Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
● A genuine commitment to Forward values and an understanding of the
unique challenges facing California.
