POSITION OVERVIEW

In NAPAWF’s five-year strategic direction the organization committed to four pillars, the third of which focuses on creating strong partnerships and being a movement leader to increase NAPAWF’s power in strategic solidarity with others who share our priorities and values. We aim to teach and implement our intention for cross-racial solidarity and live out the idea that our liberation is bound up in the liberation of other women of color, work in collaboration to build power across multiple constituencies, and be a leader in the AAPI progressive movement to champion intersectional rights of AAPI women and girls using the reproductive justice framework. The Director of Strategic Patrnerships works within the field and community engagement department to support the strategic partnerships goals to advance NAPAWF’s overall mission.

The Director of Strategic Partnerships will report to the Chief Program Officer.  This role is responsible for maintaining a broad and diverse base of public support for NAPAWF’s programmatic work, working with program leadership to establish collaborations that allow partners to understand the role of NAPAWF and collaborate with us meaningfully and strategically.

POSITION DUTIES
Relationship Management and Partnerships:

  • Direct NAPAWF’s strategic partnerships’ program in coordination with the executive team and staff within NAPAWF for the purpose of organizing our external engagement efforts and supporting the growth and strength of our partnerships so that the organization can accomplish its stated mission and vision.
  • Create annual, quarterly and monthly work plans based on program goals and manage staff to meet the goals
  • Identify and cultivate potential national, state, and local partners who can provide their expertise, partnership, resources, and economies of scale that enable NAPAWF to act on ambitious challenges through partnerships, design and implement solutions to major societal problems together, and build momentum for lasting change for AAPI women and girls.
  • Ensure alignment, coordination, and collaboration among relevant external stakeholders and, when such alignment is absent, establish and implement mitigating approaches.
  • Liaise with the AAPI community, the reproductive health and rights community, the immigrant rights and racial justice communities, and the economic justice community for the purpose of building strategic relationships with the major players in these spaces so that the organization can accomplish its goals.
  • Engage in forward-looking collaboration with all program teams and the development team to determine where external collaborations are key to our success and prioritize partnerships accordingly.
  • Coordinate and manage cross department collaborations to bring a broader community into the NAPAWF fold so that there is something for everyone: grassroots, grasstops, learners, both nonprofit and industry partners, and more.
  • Strategically convene supporters of all types at the national and regional levels at regular intervals to build support, partnerships, and solidarity for NAPAWF’s vision and mission.
  • Manage programmatic budget and work seamlessly with finance and operations to ensure the program meets finance policies.
  • Hire and supervise a highly effective team of staff and consultants as needed
  • Demonstrate strong organizational leadership presence not only with department staff but across the organization

  • At least 5 years of project management experience
  • At least 3 years of supervisory experience required
  • Managing multiple stakeholders in a form of coalition or council is a must
  • Demonstrated success recruiting, collaborating with, and improving relationships with partners for movement forward on joint initiatives.
  • Solid judgment and a commitment to reputation management, collaboration, and stewardship.
  • Strong interpersonal skills; able to quickly establish credibility and to develop and manage productive relationships. A creative entrepreneur who can build out new initiatives and foster collaboration with colleagues and partners.
  • Ability to build strong and sustainable relationships and the capability to interact within all levels of the organization and with external constituents.
  • Knowledge of and experience with and commitment to issues affecting the AAPI community and gender justice for women and girls
  • Sincere commitment to work collaboratively with all constituent groups
  • Excellent project management skills and history of successful execution of project goals
  • Analytic, strategic and structured thinker with entrepreneurial drive.
  • Track record of working and managing up, down, and across teams for collaborative success
  • Experience in driving effective decision-making processes and developing proven internal management systems that drive consistent results in movement building and partnerships development.
  • Experience in managing special projects for an organization, helping leaders and teams see where there are partnerships linkages across the work and how to improve them.
  • Excellent communication skills. Ability to effectively influence and communicate cross-functionally with all levels of management with exceptional verbal and written communication skills. Excellent presentation and facilitation skills.
  • Results oriented, a strong focus on execution, attention to detail and ability to thoughtfully prioritize

SALARY & BENEFITS

The annual salary range for this position is $88,800 – $103.500, commensurate with experience.
A highly competitive benefits package includes a 401(k) plan, medical, dental, and vision insurance. NAPAWF’s medical plan is covered by NAPAWF at 100% for employees and dependents with no out of pocket costs, including prescription drugs costs. Qualified dependents may also be covered.

NAPAWF offers full-time employees 15 days of vacation in the first year, sick leave, flexible spending program options and personal/family leave, as well as paid vacation between December 25 and January 2 of each year.
