Vision:
Detention Deputy I: Previous experience in a position that required high public contact and frequent interaction with co-workers was helpful but not required.

Detention Deputy II: A minimum of 12 months experience in a Detention Deputy I position, or equivalent, a passing evaluation score, and successful completion of the current job knowledge test.

Detention Deputy III: A minimum of 12 months experience in a Detention Deputy II position, or equivalent, a passing evaluation score, and successful completion of the current job knowledge test.

Hiring Process:
The following are the steps for the hiring process:

1. Online assessment test – National Testing Network (NTN).

2. Once you take and pass the NTN test, a recruiter will send you an email that provides instructions on how to select a date for the PAT. We will be running the PAT every Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. unless there is inclement weather, a holiday, or other unforeseen circumstances.

3. Background Packet – we will provide the background packet at the PAT, or you may pick one up at HR (1150 O St) or Weld County Sheriff’s Office Admin (1950 O St). The background packet needs to be turned in to HR (1150 O Street). We will make copies of all your original documents.

4. Polygraph – scheduled by the polygraph examiner.

5. Psychological Exam – scheduled by a Sheriff’s Office Employee.

6. Drug Screen – scheduled by a Sheriff’s Office Employee.

7. Physical fitness examination (ErgoMed) – scheduled by a Sheriff’s Office Employee.

8. Hired.
