What You’ll Do
The Associate Director of People and Culture reports to the Chief Operating Officer and is an essential member of our Operations team. They will manage routine people operations functions, including recruitment and hiring, onboarding, team engagement, and enforcing the Hub’s labor relations and management policies and procedures. The bulk of this role will involve coordinating human resources activities, maintaining an applicant tracking system (Lever), and supporting information requests across four departments and multiple campaign teams. We are eager to find an Associate Director of People and Culture who easily connects with people and can quickly pivot to accommodate the changing nature of our workforce.

As the Associate Director of People and Culture, you will:
Be responsible for work in each of the following 3 categories…

Develop and implement talent strategies aligned with the Hub’s values
Coordinate recruitment, hiring, and onboarding support efforts across all departments
Support managers with the implementation of performance management and recognition programs
Bridge management and employee relations by addressing complex or sensitive HR questions and issues
Support with planning and driving small to large scale projects related to employee data-keeping, training coordination, timekeeping, and other HR-related priorities

Organize culture-building activities
Create and maintain an engagement and feedback cadence that elevates employee voice and identifies blind spots that inhibit a healthy working environment
Articulate a culture action framework that equips managers with the tools to act on employee feedback
Recommend improvements to internal operating procedures that increase equity, inclusion, and belonging

Support strong labor relations
Assist with the implementation of the Hub’s first collective bargaining agreement and provide ongoing interpretation and administration of the final contract
Advise leadership of union employees on policy and practice to ensure compliance with the agreement
Champion and continuously build the Hub’s relationship with Union representatives
We’re seeking candidates who excel in relationship building, are detail-oriented, and have strong talent management skills. To be successful in this role, you will need:
A track record of developing and maintaining strong working relationships with a diverse group of stakeholders
A demonstrated commitment to a just and inclusive economy that delivers opportunity and dignity to everyone and preserves and strengthens our democracy
Experience incorporating the perspectives of multiple communities, specifically marginalized communities, in considering the impact and outcomes of decision-making
Experience maintaining discretion and confidentiality with information and in handling relationships
Significant knowledge and experience in HR operations or the core competencies described above
Strong written and oral communication skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office or GSuite applications
Experience in Lever (or you have used similar recruitment programs and are excited to learn new ones!)
PHR/SPHR certification or equivalent preferred
What We Offer
The salary range for this position is $80,000-$90,000, commensurate with experience. The Hub Project provides a comprehensive and competitive benefits package that includes, but is not limited to:
