Launched in 2015, The Hub Project is a nonprofit effort comprised of a growing team of communications, research, operations, and organizing experts who have extensive experience in campaign strategy, digital, and polling and analytics. POSITION SUMMARY 

The Hub Project is looking for an experienced Campaign Director to help manage the strategy, execution, and evaluation of multiple state-based programs focused on educating the public about critical economic issues and holding elected officials accountable to their constituents. The budget for the project will exceed $30 million and leverage a mix of grassroots organizing, paid media, innovative digital tactics, and earned media tactics to advance the goals of the Hub and its allies. This is a significant leadership role at The Hub Project and sits on our Senior Leadership Team.

The Campaign Director will lead a large team of more than 20 passionate and talented staff from numerous departments across the organization, including research and policy, polling, communications, paid media, digital, and in-state support staff to create innovative and effective issue advocacy campaigns. You’ll also be responsible for helping build coalitions and manage a variety of vendors, as well as foster and develop relationships with partner organizations and funders.

 

As Campaign Director, you will:
Develop, write, execute, and evaluate large-scale issue advocacy campaign plans.
Design and manage budgets to accomplish the goals of the campaign.
Lead a strategic team of communications, research, paid media, and digital staff on progressive economic issue campaigns.
Oversee the execution and evaluation of substantial paid programs on TV, radio, mail, and digital platforms.
Generate press covered by identifying opportunities for earned media.
Work closely with existing campaign partners nationally and in key states, while developing new relationships to build robust, multi-faceted campaigns.
Manage in-state partners and work with them to hire staff in key states.
Oversee rapid-response efforts as necessary.
Manage vendors across national and state programs.
Lead a team to design professional and consistent reporting on program progress and successes with an eye towards growing our network of stakeholders and our impact.
Develop relationships with funders.
Manage and effectively promote staff development and feedback, coaching, and performance evaluation to help others reach their full potential.

About you:
You have at least 9 years of extensive experience designing and managing large-scale national and state-based campaigns.
You have several years of experience developing teams and managing people and you are a talented leader who has a proven track record of building consensus.
You are committed to developing strategic plans that work–and orienting numerous people and tactics around achieving goals.
You have a passion for trying new and innovative tactics alongside traditional approaches.
You have managed large and complicated budgets and achieved outcomes within budgetary constraints.
You have successfully recruited, negotiated with and managed numerous outside vendors.
You have experience using public opinion research to inform and evaluate programs.
You are familiar with designing evaluations and tests to determine the efficacy of tactics and programs.
You excel working in fast paced environment.
You have experience working directly with people from diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds and incorporating the perspectives of multiple communities, specifically marginalized communities, in considering the impact and outcomes of decision-making.
You are an excellent verbal and written communicator and have the ability to present to diverse audiences.
You have a talent for working with partner organizations and forming meaningful organizational collaboration.
