Campus Organizers, Campus Coordinators and State Coordinators – Students Vote Equality ’22 Campaign

Website Feminist Majority

The Feminist Majority is recruiting community college and university students and recent grads to be Campus Organizers, Campus Coordinators and State Coordinators for our STUDENTS VOTE EQUALITY ’22 Campaign, a student-led voter education and mobilization campaign to increase student voter turnout for the mid-term elections in November. The first wave of hiring will be in: Arizona, Nevada, New Hampshire, Pennsylvania, Ohio and North Carolina.

The 2022 midterm elections will have an historic impact: young people’s lives and futures are especially at stake. This will be the first election after the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade ending the constitutional right to abortion access nationwide and threatening the right to contraception and same-sex marriage. The election also comes at a time when Presidential and U.S. House action is thwarted by a Senate minority through the use of filibusters stopping action urgently needed on reproductive rights, voting rights, climate change, gun violence, growing student debt, and the continuing pandemic.

Campus Coordinators and Campus Organizers

Campus Organizers (COs} and Campus Coordinators will be organizing in teams on their campuses through Election Day, November 8th, educating students about their right to register and vote where they are attending school, speaking to classrooms, dorm meetings, student clubs and at campus events about what’s at stake in the election, organizing leafletting drives and other visibility activities, recruiting and coordinating volunteers to participate in campaign activities, and organizing voter turnout drives during early voting and through election day.

Applications for COs will be accepted on a rolling basis.

Campus Organizers’ activities on the campaign are expected to take 10 hours per week for which they will be paid a stipend of $155 a week; for Campus Coordinators, campaign activities are expected to take 15 hours per week for which they will be paid a stipend of $260 weekly; and State Coordinators’ activities are expected to take 35-40 hours per week for a stipend $825 weekly.
