Launched in 2016, The Hub Project is a nonprofit effort comprising a growing team of communications, research, operations, and organizing experts who have extensive experience in campaign strategy, digital, and polling and analytics. We believe in a country where everyone has the opportunity to succeed in our economy and participate in our democracy, and we make that vision a reality by partnering with advocacy groups – bringing surge capacity and coordination to build innovative and effective campaigns.

Position Summary
The Director of People, Talent, & Operations is a senior-level management position that works closely with executive management to provide critical Human Resources, HR operations, and organizational development guidance to the rapidly growing organization. The Director is an expert in the development and administration of HR operations, recruitment and retention, and performance management policies that promote a fair and equitable total rewards and talent management system. The Director must have a strong background and understanding of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion principles and will be responsible for establishing, evaluating, and implementing long-range strategic talent management goals.

In addition, the Director’s role is essential to maintaining business continuity related to people operations, organization development, DEI strategies, general business operations, and being an effective, progressive organization in a demanding political environment. They will be responsible for making significant decisions related to people and operations at the Hub. The ideal director possesses a strong ability to develop individual and team skills to motivate and empower collective efforts and influence across the organization.

As Director of People, Talent, & Operations, you will:

Lead all people strategy and HR operations work, including but not limited to performance and promotion policies, compensation philosophies, pay parity analyses, and hiring and retention plans
Partner with senior leadership, managing directors, and the executive director to implement best practices for positive and supportive employee experience
Provide DEI thought leadership on all policies and processes implemented across the organization
Implement sustainable professional development programming and resources to ensure staff have opportunities to grow their careers
Effectively manage direct reports by providing ongoing guidance, professional development, and support
Use previous experience to make recommendations to the leadership team on best practices for internal communications, especially in a hybrid working environment
Support with the development and implementation of change management strategies and plans that maximize buy in and adoption across the organization.
Build and support inclusive and diverse teams across the Hub
Solves unexpected problems while still delivering on job duties, strategic objectives, and department responsibilities
Sets targets and fully responsible for achieving team results
Independently develops and implements strategies on matters related to projects, programs, departments, or functional areas
Conceptualize and write communications across all the various functions of people, culture, and HR operations including Human Resources, Gender, Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion; internal organization-wide communications; and external communications

About you:
You have led people and culture work at multiple organizations and have processes and best practices you’re ready to apply to The Hub
You have scaled people operations practices in fast-paced environments
You have multiple years of management and coaching experience – supporting and growing your own team as well as advising others
You have experience working in a non-profit, startup, or campaign environment
You have had primary responsibility for the smooth and effective the HR operations of organizations (in either private or public sector)
PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP certifications strongly preferred
