Position Title: Firefighter (Entry Level and Lateral)

The Oshkosh Fire Department is hiring 5 to 8 Firefighters/Paramedics (Entry Level and Lateral) to start in June 2024.  All candidates must have completed the FireTEAM exam as well as the CPAT in the last year to be considered further in the hiring process.

Salary Information: The salary range for 2023 is $52,885 – $79,175.

The Oshkosh Fire Department is a completely career department that provides a full range of services to the community from its six fire stations that are strategically located throughout the city.  Our mission is The City of Oshkosh Fire Department is a highly trained team that adds value to our community by providing a wide range of emergency services with skill and compassion. We advocate risk reduction through prevention and education, and we provide leadership in times of crisis. The Oshkosh Fire Department has received the highest possible rating of 1/10 from the Insurance Services Office (ISO) based on its ability to prevent, respond to, and suppress fires within the city in an efficient and timely manner.  The department’s 110 team members achieve this mission by providing fire protection, fire prevention, emergency medical services, special event coverage, and emergency management to the city of Oshkosh. We also provide advanced life support ambulance services to numerous nearby cities, townships, and villages. As a full-service department, we are prepared to respond to many other types of special circumstances such as hazardous materials spills, ice and open water rescue, dive rescue, and aircraft rescue firefighting.

  • EMT BASIC AT THE TIME OF APPLICATION
  • ENROLLED IN EMT PARAMEDIC AT THE TIME OF APPLICATION
