Compensation & Benefits: Full-time Firefighter/Paramedic: Pay Rate: $67,218.84 – $72,455.12 / Full-time Firefighter/Paramedic Students: Pay Rate: $57,462.60 – $62,836.80 + 10% Pension Pick-Up. + Competitive benefits package including health, dental, optical, life insurance, and generous paid time off. An additional bonus of $1.00 for each hour worked is available through October 11, 2024, for Paramedics.
Paramedic take-home pay with bonus and pension pick-up is equivalent to $76,972.32 – $82,732.36 annually.
Paramedic Student take-home pay with pension pick-up is equivalent to $63,208.86 – $69,120.48 annually.
Qualifications: Must possess a certificate under ORC 4765.55 evidencing satisfactory completion of a firefighter training program and a valid certificate issued under ORC 4765.30 to practice as a Paramedic or currently attending a Paramedic program. Candidates must also be at least 18, have a High School Diploma or GED, and possess a valid Ohio Driver’s License. Current students are encouraged to apply.
Application Process: STEP 1: Completed applications, resumes, accompanying certifications, written test results, and proof of satisfactory Firefighter Mile/CPAT results will be accepted through Friday, July 19, 2024. STEP 2: Written Test. Schedule a Written [Electronic] Test at www.nationaltestingnetwork.com or Submit Test Scores for tests taken between July 19, 2023 – July 19, 2024.
STEP 3: Physical Agility Test. If you possess a valid CPAT or Firefighter Mile certificate issued no earlier than July 19, 2024, from a licensed CPAT or NTN provider, that certificate will be accepted in lieu of completing the Firefighter Mile testing opportunities listed below. Testing for internal candidates requires oversight by the Franklin Civil Service Commission.
