Job Classification: Full-Time Firefighter Paramedic

The Bullhead City Fire Department is currently accepting applications for Full-Time Firefighters/Paramedics.  This position requires a FireTEAM exam, a valid CPAT, and all applicable certifications.

Salary Information:

Firefighter/CEP – $17.76/hr. + $4.01/hr. Medic Pay Stipend ($65,096 estimated annual pay)

District and Area Overview: Bullhead City Fire Department serves a community of approximately 40,000 residents. We operate 5 Fire Stations providing fire protection, emergency medical services, and community risk reduction. We are located in the northwest corner of the state where Arizona, Nevada, and California meet, nestled along the banks of the Colorado River.

Job Requirements

Age: 18

Citizenship Required: Lawfully work in the U.S.

High School Grad/GED: Yes

Valid ARIZONA State Driver’s License: Valid license in state of residency

Ability to Read/Speak English: Yes

Necessary Certifications:

  • IFSAC Firefighter I & II (or equivalency)
  • Valid National Registry or State of Arizona EMCT-Paramedic certification
  • Current CPR Healthcare Provider certification
  • Current ACLS & PALS certifications

Selection Process:

  • Application and Resume
  • CPAT certification within the previous 12 months
  • Passing score of FireTEAM entry-level test within previous 12 months
  • Oral Board Interview
  • Fire Chief’s Interview

Felony, Criminal Activity Disqualifiers: Convictions of a criminal offense will be reviewed thoroughly and can have a bearing on one’s employment.

Driving Disqualifiers: A current cancellation, expiration, refusal, revocation, suspension, or restriction that affects the applicant’s ability to drive on District business will be reviewed thoroughly and may have a bearing on one’s employment.

Drug Use Disqualifiers: This is a safety-sensitive position.

Employment Disqualifiers: Misrepresentation of any information on employment application or during the recruitment process may be an employment disqualifier.
