Job Classification: Part-Time Firefighter

The Lebanon Fire Division is currently accepting applications to fill Part-Time Firefighter positions. Candidates are required to complete the NTN Fireteam exam and the PSSA.

Position Open Until Filled

The Lebanon Fire Division is an ISO Class 3 Fire and EMS Department, with approximately 39 full-time and 3 part-time personnel. Serving over 20,000 residents across 13 square miles, the department includes 5 industrial parks and operates from two stations, including a state-of-the-art 20,000-square-foot facility.

The Firefighter/EMT will be assigned to fire or medic apparatus based on the shift supervisor’s decision and will be responsible for fire suppression, emergency medical services, technical rescue, hazardous materials response, and other duties as required.

Qualifications Required at Application Time:
Valid Driver’s License
High School Diploma or GED
Ohio EMT-B, EMT-A, or EMT-P certification
Ohio Level II Firefighter certification (or equivalent)
Salary & Benefits:
$15.50/hour for EMT-B and EMT-A
$17.50/hour for EMT-P
$0.75/hour increase upon completion of probation
Annual performance and cost of living increases
Pay period every two weeks
Option to pick up additional hours if available
Schedule:
24-hour shifts every sixth day
Overtime after 106 hours in a pay period
Overtime for special events
Time and a half for holidays worked
Holiday Time:
Holiday time each year, prorated by hire date
Holidays worked paid at time and a half
Personal Leave:
48 hours of personal leave each year

Hiring Process:
Friday, October 4, 2024 @ 1600: Application, resume, driver’s license, and certifications due
Friday, October 4, 2024 @ 1600: National Testing Network (NTN) Fireteam and PSSA scores must be submitted with a passing score of 70% or better
October, Date TBD: EMS Assessment & Physical Agility Test – Modified CPAT with 10:20 min pass/fail (Certified CPAT accepted if completed within the last 12 months)
October, Date TBD: Peer Panel Interviews
Conditional Offer: Background investigation, physical exam, and drug screening
