Position Title: Full-Time Patrol Officer
The Village of Cuyahoga Heights is conducting a test for one imminent opening for a Full-Time Patrol Officer position.
Salary Information:
Base Pay (2025): $90,770 (achieved after 2 years of service)
Additional Compensation: Bonuses and overtime opportunities

Department Overview:
The Cuyahoga Heights Police Department is a community and service-oriented organization. The village has a small residential population with a large industrial tax base and is an inner-ring suburb of Cleveland with a relatively low crime rate compared to surrounding suburbs.
City/County/Area Information:
Location: Cuyahoga Heights, Cuyahoga County, Northeast Ohio
Population: Approximately 700 residents with an elevated population of workers
Job Requirements:
Age: Applicants must be at least 21 years old at the time of appointment and no more than 35 years old at the time of the competitive examination.
Citizenship: Must be a U.S. citizen.
Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
Driver’s License: Valid Ohio driver’s license required.
Language: Must be able to read and speak English.
College: Not required.
Academy Certification: Not required, but bonus points are awarded for a valid OPOTA certificate.
Experience: No prior experience required.
Additional Requirements:
Physical Fitness Test Certificate: Must be obtained from Cuyahoga Community College within 3 months of the test date and prior to appointment.
