Testing Process – By Invitation Only
Testing for this position requires applying to the City of Gahanna job posting, open from September 1, 2024, through October 1, 2024. Candidates who meet the minimum job requirements will receive notification from the City of Gahanna to either schedule testing or submit their scores if they have already taken the exam. Test scores will be accepted from exams taken between March 1, 2024, and October 8, 2024. If you took the NTN test prior to the job application opening on September 1, 2024, you can log into your NTN account to submit your scores.
Candidates who do not apply to the City of Gahanna job posting will not be considered. The City of Gahanna does not require a Physical Abilities Test (PAT) through NTN; PAT testing will be conducted by the City of Gahanna. Please review the Police Officer Applicant Packet and Hiring Standards before registering for the examination.
PATs are not administered at Columbus State Community College. If you are applying to other NTN departments, you must test at a different NTN location to complete your PAT.

Step 1: $66,798.64
Step 2: $75,701.05
Step 3: $87,318.29
Step 4: $109,443.97
Step 1 is the hiring rate for Police Officers.

Department Overview:
The Gahanna Division of Police is a community-oriented, innovative law enforcement agency comprised of 57 sworn officers, supported by reserve officers and various civilian staff. The department is divided into three subdivisions: Field Services, Investigative Services, and Support Services.

Job Requirements:
Age: Must be at least 21 years old.
US Citizenship: Required.
Education: High school diploma or GED.
Driver’s License: Must have a valid Ohio driver’s license.
Vision: Corrected vision in both eyes must be 20/30.
Academy Certification: Ohio Police Officer Training Academy (OPOTA) certification is required, or the ability to attend and successfully complete a police academy.
