Position: Entry Level Police Officer

The Board of Fire and Police Commissioners for the Village of Schiller Park is accepting applications for Entry Level Police Officers to establish an Eligibility List for hiring needs.

Benefits:

Unique Benefit: The Village covers 50% of retiree health insurance premium at age 50 with 20 years of service, ending at age 65.
Salary:
Starting pay ranges from $74,513 to $106,966, with additional longevity pay per the current collective bargaining agreement.

Known for its close-knit environment and strong community support, the department serves a population of approximately 12,000.

Minimum Requirements:

Citizenship: U.S. Citizen. If not born in the U.S., proof of citizenship is required.
Driver’s License: Valid at the time of application, with Illinois license required by the time of hire.
Age Requirement: Must be 21 by the application deadline and under 35 at the time of testing. Veterans may exceed the age limit by up to 10 years based on active duty service.
Education: High school diploma or GED and a minimum of 60 college credit hours from an accredited institution.
P.O.W.E.R. Card: Must possess or obtain a valid P.O.W.E.R. Card.
Character: Must have good moral character and be physically and psychologically fit for the role.
Residence Requirement: Must reside within specific geographic boundaries within six months after completing an 18-month probationary period. Boundaries: East – Lake Michigan, West – IL Route 47, North – Wisconsin border, South – I-80.
