We’re hiring two Field Organizers to engage volunteers and partners through online and offline tactics in support of 100% clean energy, climate justice, and other movement and coalition priorities in Pennsylvania. One will be based in Western Pennsylvania, preferably in the Pittsburgh area, and the other can be remote anywhere within the state of Pennsylvania.

The Field Organizers will help strengthen our base of engaged activists throughout the Commonwealth and will provide the skills and space our volunteers need to fight for change in their communities. These positions will also build on and establish partnerships with key external stakeholders, including community and environmental justice partners, in order to leverage our organizational capacity in support of the fight for justice.

The Sierra Club values applicants who are people that identify as Black, Indigenous, and other marginalized groups; women; queer, transgender, gender non-conforming, and gender fluid people. A college degree is not required.

The salary for this position is $57,000 — $61,500 (depending on location) and includes excellent medical, dental, and vision benefits as well as a retirement savings 401(k) plan.

We are looking for candidates who can demonstrate impact through community organizing and base-building as well as a strong racial, economic, and climate justice analysis.

These positions will primarily focus on engaging the public at scale in order to develop the organizing capacity and community power we need across the state to achieve our priority outcomes, including supporting our movement partners. Engagement will include one-on-ones with key or potential volunteers; recruitment through email, text messages, phone calls, and other list-building strategies; and large online and offline gatherings, such as trainings, workshops, webinars, or assemblies.
