The Texas Democratic Party is seeking an experienced and organized professional to fill the position of Operations Director. This is a full time position based in Austin, TX. The Operations Director will report to the Executive Director and work closely with other department directors.

The Operations Director is responsible for the Party’s financial management, compliance, and reporting as well as contributing towards establishing strategic goals and implementing policies to achieve those larger organizational goals.

Core Responsibilities:

Oversee financial operations for the Party, manage financial reconciliations for multiple bank accounts and allocate resources as needed
Monitor contributions for compliance, making adjustments as necessary
Maintain financial records for campaign finance reports to both federal and state of Texas authorities. File reports in a timely manner.
Assist the Primary Administrator with payment administration and reconciliation with the Secretary of State’s office
Coordinate with other Directors to plan and launch Convention 2024 and other projects as assigned by their supervisor
Partner with Executive and Finance Director in budget creation & maintenance
Manage the Operations team and assist with intern program recruiting and management
Administer human resources for the Party including recruitment, hiring, onboarding, payroll and offboarding.
Maintain an up to date employee handbook which incorporates the requirements of the various union agreements
Work closely with the Chair, Finance Chair, and Executive Directors of the Party to drive financial forecasting and associated policies
Prepare quarterly reports for the officers and governing body (SDEC) to be reviewed by the Finance Committee
Maintain strong relationships with Democratic elected officials, labor partners, and corporate lobby

Preferred experience:

Applicants should have 2 or more years of operations experience, and a demonstrated history in political organizations. Campaign experience is helpful. Applicants should be creative, self-starters who can juggle a variety of tasks and personalities. Ideal applicants will have a strong familiarity with Google Drive, PT, Actblue, and Asana.

Employee Classification:

This is a Texas based full-time position and will include some nights and weekends.

Salary: $80,000 – $85,000

Start Date: Immediately
