Description: 

The Texas Democratic Party is seeking a Finance Intern for the remainder of the Spring 2024 term with the possibility of continuing into the Summer. This person will be responsible for drafting direct donor communications. This person will also have the opportunity to prepare briefings for materials for fundraising events and gain experience in donor prospecting and general research. An ideal candidate will need to be well-organized, detail-oriented, self-motivated, and have a positive attitude and willingness to learn.


Core Responsibilities: 

  • Draft donor communication and acknowledgments
  • Research prospective donors and assist with general research projects
  • Maintain active donor database in NGP and ensure up-to-date documentation of relationship management
  • Assist with preparation of briefing materials for events and meetings
  • Support or staff external meetings and events as needed
  • Assist with day-to-day operations of the finance department
  • Other duties as assigned


Required Skills: 

  • Proficiency in Google Suite specifically Google Sheets.
  • The ability to focus on precise messaging to prepare public donor-facing communication ensuring positive interactions with constituents.
  • The ability to think creatively to complete research projects and expand the Texas Democratic Party network.

Start Date: ASAP

Employment Type: Intern. Part-time, hourly, in-person.

Location: Austin, Texas

Salary: $15/hour
