Data Analytics Associate
The Parkside Group, New York’s leading full-service public affairs firm, is seeking a creative, adaptive professional with a strong background in data analytics to join its Political Campaign practice in New York City. The Parkside Group has elected over 150 Democratic public officials with a focus on candidates who are women and people of color.
The role will work closely with client leads and the Digital Director to carry out sophisticated data projects and creatively define, address, and present data solutions. A successful Data Associate will continuously review, refine, and rethink the approach to their data portfolio and adjust for more efficient output and improved targeting methodology.
This position will report to the Managing Director of the Political Campaign team.

Key Skills, Accountabilities and Responsibilities:
Working with client leads to manage and analyze large data sets
Use exceptional listening skills to closely coordinate with client leads to assess the full suite of data needs – including critical ongoing functions.
Present recommendations for how to accomplish those needs and then refine and iterate based on feedback.
Creating presentation materials and reports for clients that summarizes the data in a clear and easily-understandable form.
Work closely with a leading non-profit client to maintain, run, and continuously track donors and report on direct mail metrics.
Manage sophisticated existing polling operations for political campaigns.
This includes generating campaign district analyses with highly targeted methodology.
Using databases for list generation
Generate key insights for clients using election district-level results data.
Work with the Creative team to ensure accurate and efficient delivery of collateral by vendors.
Regularly order state voter files from state BOE and upload to PostgreSQL warehouse for sophisticated filtering.
Essential Skills
Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in analytics or related fields and a BA or BS degree in any speciality is required. A relevant Bachelor of Science degree is preferred. Interest in politics is a plus!
Familiarity with one or more of the following tools and platforms:
Superior Excel proficiency required
Powerpoint skills required
R or Python are a major plus, but highly creative problem solving to tackle data analysis is critical
Familiarity with VAN/VoteBuilder is preferred
Familiarity with any state Board of Elections Excel voter files is preferred
Familiarity with direct mailing and polling processes is a plus
Familiarity with case weights is a plus

Our company continues to honor a hybrid (home and office) policy. Priority will be given to candidates in the New York City area.
