We are seeking someone who wants to make an impact in democratic politics and flex their creative muscles, all while putting their strong political acumen, cross-team collaboration, and project management skills to the test. The right person for this job will be passionate, a team player, and able to multi-task while working collaboratively to provide strategic guidance to clients.

The Account Executive is part of the Client Services team helping our clients win.

The Client Services team leads the internal team working closely with Pivot’s Creative, Production and Targeting teams to develop unique direct mail strategies for our clients. Each member of our team brings diverse perspectives, unique expertise, background, and perspective to bear on making an impact in democratic campaigns and organizations across the country and at all levels of office and with organizations in 2024.

This is a full-time, temporary position through Election Day 2024 with competitive salary and excellent benefits. The nature of our business requires long hours during the election cycle and we expect all staff to be flexible in this area. However, Pivot works to ensure all staff maintain a healthy work/life balance.

Qualifications

What you bring to the team:

  • Previous experience with politics, organizing, advocacy, or labor unions is required; past campaign experience strongly preferred.
  • Expertise in project management.
  • Proven experience managing deadlines in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Patience, understanding, and flexibility to adapt.
  • Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills are essential for this role.

  • Proficiency in Excel with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

The right person for the job will be a highly skilled project manager who can successfully deliver complex projects on time, and possess exceptional communication and problem-solving skills and a strong sense of teamwork. Candidates for this position should be curious about the work and interested in learning new things.

Project Management

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive timelines and budgets.
  • Define and implement quality standards and ensure that deliverables meet or exceed these standards.
  • Coordinate with internal departments to ensure processes are being adhered to, and projects are understandable for all.
  • Collaborate with Pivot’s Creative, Targeting, and Production departments to create the best possible products.

Client Support

  • Ensure written communication aligns with messaging goals.
  • Work collaborative with Pivot leadership on strategic decisions and creative development.
  • Ensure clients are aware of project timelines and important updates.
  • Update budgets and plans as timelines, universes, or client needs change.

Content Creation

  • Create campaign mail plans and budgets in collaboration with the production, targeting and creative departments.
  • Draft concepts and copy that maintain client’s messaging goals.
  • Manage client edits and feedback into mail pieces with great attention to detail.
  • Oversee quality control of internal and external outputs to ensure error-free work.

Internal Processes

  • Participate in the proofreading and editing process.
  • Mentor junior staff and ensure internal processes are followed.

Compensation & Benefits

The salary for this position is set at $78,000 per year. There is also the opportunity for end of election bonuses, based off individual and firm performance. To ensure pay equity across our team, salaries are non-negotiable.
