SUMMARY
EMILYs List, the nation’s largest resource for women in politics, is searching for a Vertical Video Editor to join our Digital team. The Digital Department is responsible for engaging and growing the EMILYs List community and providing online resources for EMILYs List candidates. The department works closely with the Campaigns, Training, Development, and Communications teams to ensure our online program advances the organization’s fundraising, messaging, and electoral priorities.

The Vertical Video Editor plays a crucial role on this team. This person will conceptualize, create, and distribute compelling vertical video content to drive engagement and conversation across TikTok, Snapchat, Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts. This person will spearhead our vertical video creation and have the opportunity to innovate the EMILYs List digital content that reaches younger and diverse audiences.

Essential Job Functions

• Ideate and produce vertical video content TikTok, Snapchat, Instagram Reels, Facebook Reels, and YouTube Shorts to reach younger and diverse audiences;
• Lead vertical video production from ideation through post-launch, providing viewers with shareable and engaging experiences;
• Review data and performance around Vertical Video content weekly, spearheading strategy adjustments as needed;
• Work collaboratively across the Digital team and other departments to produce timely and on message content;
• Travel to capture content at EMILYs List events, up to monthly as required
• Other projects as assigned.

Qualifications 

• Experience in social media content creation for an organization, brand, political campaign or candidate, or agency.
• Deep understanding of TikTok/Reels style editing and curation.
• Experienced content editing and creation skills using Adobe Photoshop and Premiere.
• Strong social media proficiency – always online across TikTok, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, and Snapchat.
• Deep awareness and understanding of social media trends, memes, pop culture, and viral content.
• Proven ability to trend-spot on TikTok and Instagram, and quickly pitch, shoot, and edit creative ideas based on specific trends.
• Able to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-based, ever-changing environment while remaining organized and detail-oriented.
• Demonstrated passion about Democratic ideals and political issues.

This position is eligible for full-time remote work and requires occasional travel. Candidates must be able to travel and live near a major airport. The salary for this position is $63,000 and comes with a comprehensive benefits package. The starting pay for this position is equal to others at the same level throughout the organization.
